Your research need not be limited to materials held in Pitts or other Emory libraries. If an item you need for your research cannot be found in DiscoverE (Emory's online catalog), you may place a request for that item through Interlibrary Loan (ILL). Library staff will place requests for it with participating libraries in the U.S. or abroad. If the item can be loaned or photocopied, library staff will obtain it and notify you when it arrives. Please note that the time required to obtain materials through ILL can vary, depending on the nature of the item and its availability. You should allow up to two weeks lead time for obtaining materials through ILL. Click here for additional information and a link to the ILL form.
The Atlanta Regional Council for Higher Education (ARCHE) Interlibrary Use program allows Emory faculty, staff and students to borrow from the collections of other ARCHE libraries when an item is not owned by Emory. An ILU card must be issued by Pitts Theology Library and is valid only for the library holding the needed item. Please check with a member of the library staff if you think you need an ILU card.
