Books circulate to Candler Doctor of Ministry Students for 120 days.
Physical items placed on reserve for any class circulate for 3 hours or 24 hours.
Items can be renewed if they have not been recalled and borrowing privileges are current.
Doctor of Ministry students may request that items from the circulating collections be mailed to them. Pitts will pay the cost of shipping materials to students, but students are expected to return materials and to pay for the shipping costs to return materials to the library. Items must be returned to the library BY their due date in order to avoid accrual of overdue fines; you may renew items that have not been recalled. Standard overdue and recalled overdue fines apply to any items not returned by their due dates. In the event an item is lost in the shipping process, the borrowing student will be responsible for paying the lost item cost.
All requests should be made via ILLIAD.
You may view your account and renew materials before their due date by visiting discoverE and clicking "Emory Login" Please use your NetID and password. To inquire about the possibility of renewing materials that are past due, please contact the Circulation Desk (404.727.4166). Please note that the dates shown on your account are the dates materials are due; failure to receive a courtesy notice or overdue notice does not change the due date of the material or the fines that subsequently accrue.
Books may be returned at the Circulation Desk during library hours or mailed to the library. A book drop located outside the second floor entrance to the library is also available 24 hours per day. You may also return books at any other Emory library to be re-routed to Pitts.
Any registered patron may recall any checked out item from another patron through use of the blue Request button in the item's online catalog record. When an item is recalled, the current user is given 10 days to return the item. The item is then held for the requesting patron for 10 days.
Library fines and fees can be paid at the Pitts circulation desk using any major credit card, including Visa, American Express, or Discover, as well as Apple Pay and Google Pay. We cannot accept cash or check payments. All Emory students' fines and fees will be charged to the University student account after 2 weeks.
Overdue fines for recalled items accrue at a rate of $2 per day.
Regular overdue items accrue fines at a rate of $.50 per day.
Items that are both overdue and recalled accrue both fines.
Reserve items accrue fines at a rate of $1 per hour for each item.
The minimum fee for a lost book is $100. The replacement fee may be higher according to actual replacement cost of the item.
Please be aware that library accounts may be barred for failure to return recalled items by the recall due date. In addition, library accounts may become blocked due to an excessive number of overdue books or an excessive accumulation of bills on the account.
If you have lost a book or other library item, please contact the Circulation Desk (404.727.4166).
