Scanning at Pitts

Pitts offers scanning in two locations in the library. In the copy room on the second floor, patrons can use our Zeutschel Zeta bookscanner, which allows patrons to quickly scan books in black and white or color via the top-down image capture. This machine allows patrons to manipulate scans on the fly, run Optimal Character Recognition, and save PDF or TIFF scans to a USB flash drive (available at the circulation desk) or via email. Patrons can also use the Konica Minolta Bizhub 223, which allows color and black and white PDF scans to be sent via email or saved to a USB flash drive. The Bizhub 223 also has a high-speed automatic document feeder for scanning and copying.

In the Information Commons area of the second floor, patrons have access to two Canon LiDE 110 flatbed photo scanners. These two machines are connected to computers (one Mac, one Windows) which have powerful media software installed, including Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 and Adobe Acrobat Professional XI.
