The Pitts Library subscribes to more than 1,000 periodicals, with special strength in titles from sub-Saharan Africa, and typically adds over 4,000 issues to its collections annually. Periodicals holdings include more than 40 newspaper subscriptions.
We hold some of our periodicals, particularly older publications, at the Library Service Center (LSC), an offsite storage center shared by Emory and Georgia Tech. Click here to learn how to request items from the LSC.
At this time, many periodicals published before 1950 are not identified in our online catalog. If you cannot locate a particular periodical, please contact a reference librarian to inquire about its availability. Emory also subscribes to many electronic journals, a list of which you can find at http://ejournals.emory.edu.
Newspapers
Of the more than 40 newspapers received by Pitts Theology Library, special strengths reside in Methodist conference newspapers and Christian newspapers from sub-Saharan Africa. We also receive newspapers from other Christian denominations and a selection of general interest and academic newspapers, including The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and The Chronicle of Higher Education.
