Visiting Faculty
Visiting Faculty from outside Atlanta may request courtesy library privileges through the Office of the Academic Dean at Candler School of Theology. The following procedures and policies will apply:
- Please obtain a letter with Candler letterhead requesting library privileges from the Academic Dean, noting duration of the visit, and have this letter forwarded or brought to the Pitts Theology Library Circulation Desk, with both local and home address, phone, and email contacts.
- Library privileges will include check-out of books and use of library databases in Pitts Theology Library (not off-campus access). Please note any special needs when setting up your library account.
- Visiting scholars have the responsibility to pay overdue fines and replace any lost books.
- Visiting faculty may borrow up to 100 items for 365 days or the length of their visit, whichever is shorter. Books may be recalled from you by any other user at any time, just as for Emory students, faculty, and staff. You may also recall books from other users.
- Visiting faculty who do not otherwise have office space allocated to them may apply for use of a research carrel at Pitts Theology Library. Please review the room use policies and, if interested, complete the online application form.
