Description: Born in Westoe, Durham, England, Fox attended Oxford from 1836-1839, where he decided to offer himself for foreign service in the Church of England. He was ordained by the Bishop of London on Dec. 21, 1840 and set out for India where he would minister to the Telugu-speaking people of what is now called Andhra Pradesh. His wife died in 1845 and one of his 3 children shortly after. Returning briefly to England, he left his two remaining children and went back to India in 1846 where he soon became ill. He returned to England again and died in September of 1848.
