Author: Luther, Martin, 1483-1546, tr.

Image Title: Job Assists his Friends

Scripture Reference:

Description: Job's three friends, Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar, offer sacrifices to God to atone for their sin of speaking what was not true about him (background) and then they kneel before Job so that he might pray for their forgiveness. The book in Job's hands may suggest that after he was restored to health and prosperity by God, he wrote an account of his experiences (cf. Job 19:23).
