Description: The serpent watches closely, as Adam appears to remind Eve of God’s words concerning the forbidden fruit that she holds in her hand. As the numeral at the head of the page indicates, this is plate #3 in a series of illustrations, and the engraver, Michael van der Gucht (1660-1725), is responsible for the work.
