The image is titled with the Latin CORDIS VOLATUS, which translates “the flying of the heart,” and is accompanied by the text of Colossians 3:1. This is the thirty-eighth in a series of 47 emblems published anonymously and adapted from Benedictine writer Benedict van Haeften's Schola Cordis (1629).
