The image is titled with the Latin CORDIS DILATATIO, which translates “the enlarging of the heart,” and is accompanied by the text of Psalm 119:32. This is the thirty-fifth in a series of 47 emblems published anonymously and adapted from Benedictine writer Benedict van Haeften's Schola Cordis (1629).
