Description: This emblem depicts a dove surrounded by light flying in a starry night sky over a small city in the hills. The image is titled with the Latin phrase TENEBRAE EAM NON COMPREHENDE, which means "darkness has not overcome," referring to John 1:5 “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” This emblem is one in a series of 46 published by Cardinal Celestino Sfondrati confirming the Immaculate Conception in nature.
