Description: This sketch represents a picture that appears in an eleventh-century Greek psaltery once housed in the Barberini library. The left half of the sketch shows Philip the Evangelist (right figure, haloed) riding in a chariot with the Ethiopian eunuch, who is reading from the Hebrew Bible. The right half depicts the eunuch’s baptism, as Philip places his right hand on the standing eunuch’s head.
