Description: This engraving of the baptism of Jesus comes from the Greek Menologue stored in the Vatican Library. Jesus stands upright as John the Baptist (left of center) places his right hand on Jesus’ head, preparing to immerse him. Two angels (right) carry Jesus’ clothes, two onlooking men stand behind John, and a hand from heaven casts a dove and a spiritual gust of air down onto Jesus’ head.
