Description: As archbishop of Cologne, Engelbert II of Berg (c. 1185-1225) took arms which combined his own personal arms with those reserved for the archbishop's office. Adorned with a small rose, a black cross divides the shield into quarters, which alternately contain either three hearts or a lion rampant. More insignia adorn the shield: an archbishop's crown, a sword, and a crosier.
