Description: A portrait of Venetian Doge Marcantonio Memmo (1536-1615), who reigned from 1612 to 1615. Memmo’s coat of arms features two countercolored sets of three berries. The coin on this page, Memmo’s 1615 osella, depicts the Doge humbly accepting the Venetian Republic’s banner from Saint Mark, and Jesus standing with a glow emanating from his head. The reverse (right) features a Biblical passage on the perimeter. The mintmaster, Vincenzo Emo, has his initials placed at the bottom center of the obverse.
