Image Title: Portrait and Medal of Leonardo Loredan [Agostino Barbarigo]

Description: Contrary to the page header, the portrait and medals belong not to Doge Leonardo Loredan (1438-1521), who reigned from 1501 to 1521, but to his predecessor Agostino Barbarigo (c. 1419-1501). The coat of arms is partially correct: it includes two sets of three flowers, which form part of Loredan’s true coat of arms, but the three lions belong to Barbarigo. On the reverse of the accompanying medal (left coin face), Doge Barbarigo holds a banner, kneeling before the winged lion of Saint Mark, which carries a book. The obverse (right) features a bust of Doge Barbarigo.
