Description: A portrait of Venetian Doge Sebastiano Ziani (r. 1172-1178). He hosted the Pope Alexander III and Holy Roman Emperor Frederick I for the signing of the Treaty of Venice. His coat of arms contains four quadrants: the upper left and bottom right contain three fleurs-de-lis; the other upper right and bottom left contain a fox, or other vulpine animal, rampant.
