Description: On the left: Jesus hangs from the cross. The Virgin Mary weeps to his left, but on the right, in the traditional place of the Beloved Disciple is Death, pointing with a smile at Jesus. Its flesh hangs in tatters, and its bones show. ON the right: four skeletons dance in front of a pile of skulls. Three play long trumpets, and the rightmost plays a bagpipe. Original image by Niklaus Manuel Deutsch (1484-1530), copied by Guillaume Stettler and lithographed by Wilhelm Stettler .
