Description: To the left of a stone monument stands Jesus, who opens a scroll on which is written: Blyde Boodschap [Good Tidings]. At his feet lie a serpent, a skull, and broken chains; behind his there is a line of people with palm branches. In the right foreground Mankind, depicted as an old man, longingly stretches his hands out; next to him is a tablet with an image of a tree that grows out of a globe; behind him stands Repentance, a sad woman with loose hanging hair. Above this group are shown eight angels and cherubs. On the front of the stone is written: Luikens Schriftuurlyke Geschienissen en Gelykenissen. Tweede Deel. [Luiken’s Scriptural Histories and Images. Second Part.] On the right side under the image is written J. Luiken fecit. [J. Luiken etched it].
