He carries his left hand a censer and with his right hand he pulls the Soul along. Three clouds of incense arise from the censer. The Soul is portrayed as a young woman wearing a long dress. Under the image is written Jesus and the Soul. Draw me, we will run after thee. Song of Solomon 1:4. The Dutch artist and poet, Jan Luiken (1649-1712) was responsible for drawing and etching this emblem, as written under the bottom right side—“J Luyken invent. et fecit”.
