Scripture Reference:
Description: The cabinet maker leans against his workbench looking over his shoulder at an object pointed at by a young man. Various carpentry tools lie haphazardly in his workshop. A large chest is placed against the right wall and two men are in the process of moving a table to the outside. The Dutch artist and poet Jan Luiken (1649-1712) was responsible for drawing this emblem and for creating the motto and poem that follow. Jan Luiken and/or his son Casper Luiken (1672-1708) were responsible for its etching. The attendant scripture text is Proverbs 8:21.
