Description: As commander of the Catholic League’s force, Johann Tserclaes (1559-1632 C.E.), Count of Tilly, has his forces lay siege to the city of Magdeburg during the Thirty Years’ War. After the city has been overrun, devastating loss of human life, including that of the Anabaptists residing in the city, ensues. Only 5,000 of Madgeburg’s 30,000 inhabitants survive the conflict.
