Description: During the Eighty Years’ War, Spanish soldiers board the boat of the Mennonite Hendrick Pruyt off the coast of Friesland, confiscate his vessel, and imprison him at Wurckom, in Friesland. Upon learning of his Anabaptist faith, they torture him and endeavor to put him to death by binding him to a dinghy covered in tar, setting said dinghy on fire, and sending him out on the Zuiderzee to perish.
