Description: Dirk Willems evades capture in Asperan only to turn back to save the life of his pursuer, who has fallen through the ice of a frozen pond. Nevertheless, instead of releasing Willems for this favor, his pursuer arrests him and takes him back to Asperan, where the authorities of that city have Willems tortured and finally burned to death for his Anabaptist faith .
