Description: This image depicts the birth of Jesus in the manger in Bethlehem, with the magi bringing gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh, while the shepherds visit the newborn Jesus. In the background an angel announces the birth of Jesus to the shepherds in the field. To the right Joseph learns of Mary’s pregnancy and Mary visits her cousin Elizabeth. In the top-right corner is Zechariah confirming that his son’s name will be John. In the top-left corner an angel appears to Zechariah as he is ministering in the Temple to tell him that his wife, Elizabeth, will give birth to John the Baptist. To the left is the annunciation, with the angel Gabriel visiting Mary. At the bottom Jesus is circumcised.
