Description: Heliodorus tryies to seize money for the temple and carry it back to the treasury of King Seleucus IV Philopator, but he is met by two young men and a rider on a horse, who appear from heaven and scourge him. Priests take fire from the altar and drop it into a deep, waterless pit before the Israelites exile (left), while the descendants of those priests find thick water in the pit where the fire was deposited (right). Heliodorus arrives in Jerusalem and is greeted by the high priest (bottom left). Heliodorus is carried from the Temple on a litter (bottom right). Heliodorus offers a sacrifice to God and thanks Onias for his healing (top left). At the top is the vision of the heavenly armies during the time of Antiochus IV Epiphanes. Apollonius leads an army against Jerusalem (top right).
