Description: This image depicts Samuel crowning Saul as the king of Israel. In the top-left corner the Israelites come to Samuel and ask him to appoint a king over them. In the top-right corner Saul and the servant of his father Kish search for Kish’s missing donkeys. At the top Saul and his servant eat in the hall with Samuel and those invited. To the right Samuel anoints Saul as the king of Israel. In the bottom-right corner Saul cuts up a yoke of oxen as a declaration of war against the Ammonites. In the bottom-left corner Saul leads the Israelites in victory over the Ammonites.
