Description: This image depicts the Philistines capturing the Ark of the Covenant in battle. To the left Eli collapses and dies after hearing of the defeat in battle of the Israelites by the Philistines and the death of his two sons, Hophni and Phinehas. In the top-left corner the wife of Phinehas gives birth to Ichabod. In the top-right corner Dagon, the god of the Philistines, falls on his face before the Ark of the Covenant in Ashdod. At the top the Ark of the Covenant is returned to the Israelites by the Philistines. In the bottom-right corner an angel of the Lord kills seventy of the descendants of Jeconiah, because they do not rejoice at the return of the Ark of the Covenant.
