Image Title: Portrait of Wiprecht the Younger

Description: Wiprecht the Younger (also Wiprecht III; d. 1117) stands in armor, holding a battle flag and a shield. The brief biography to his left indicates that he co-ruled the counties of Groitzsch and Leisnig with his father Wiprecht II (d. 1124). The shield’s symbols refer to parts of their domain: the horse represents Groitzsch, the swan represents Zwickau, and the two-color field perhaps denotes Leisnig or the family proper.
