Image Title: Coat of Arms of the Rantzau Family

Description: Inscribed within a larger insignia, this coat of arms belongs to the Danish-German Rantzau family. The round shield has two halves, whose colors are identified in the inscription below the arms: the right half (which is the viewer’s left side) is red, and the left is white. The reverse is true for the horns which extend from the helmet. The inscription associates the color red with war and white with peace.
