Description: Jesus carries the cross to Golgotha, where he is nailed to the crossbeam. On the head of the cross is a sign that reads “INRI.” Includes the monogram of the woodcutter, Christoffel van Sichem II (1577-1658); his son, Christoffel van Sichem III (1618-1659), may have collaborated with him on these images. This image also includes the engraver's initials (HG) at the base.
