Scripture Reference:
Description: An illustration of the parable of the wedding feast, in which a king holds a feast to celebrate his son's marriage. After the original guests decline their invitations, he invites all the people, both good and bad, whom his slaves could find on the streets. In the near background the king binds a man who does not have on a wedding garment and commands him to be thrown into a pit, while in the far background the king's army destroys the city of those who rejected his invitation. Includes the monogram of the woodcutter, Christoffel van Sichem II (1577-1658); his son, Christoffel van Sichem III (1618-1659), may have collaborated with him on these images.
