Description: This image comes from “Solitudo sive vitae Foeminarum Anachoritarum,” by Adriaen and Joan Collaert and Cornelius Galle, bound with “Solitudo, sive, Vitae patrum eremicolarum”. Saint Sara reads scripture and prays beside the Nile River. It is said that she lived beside the river for sixty years and never looked at it. The name of the artist responsible for the design, Maarten De Vos, is at the lower left and the name of the engraver, Adriaen Collaert, is at the lower right.
