Description: This image comes from “Trophaeum Vitae Solitariae,” dated 1598, bound with “Solitudo, sive, Vitae patrum eremicolarum”. Saint Arnulf of Metz, a Frankish monk and hermit who was also the Bishop of Metz (r. 614-629). The artist responsible for the design was Maarten De Vos, but the engraving for the volume was done by Raphael Sadeler I, whose names are at the lower right.
