Description: Saint Theonas of Egypt (d. ca. 395) is shown writing near a well with pitcher and bucket nearby and animals at a distance, perhaps alluding to the story of his watering wild animals. The artist responsible for the design was Maarten De Vos, but the engraving for the volume was done by Johannes Sadeler I (Jan Sadeler) and Raphael Sadeler I, whose surname is at the lower right.
