Image Title: Historiated Title-Page

Description: This historiated title-page shows Aaron to the right wearing the ephod of the high-priest of Israel and holding the Ten Commandments, while to the left is the Virgin Mary wearing the papal triple-tiara and  holding the cross, the keys to the kingdom of heaven, and the elements for communion.  Below Mary is an image of the wounds of Christ with blood pouring from them, while under Aaron is a menorah.  The Holy Spirit can be seen descending from above in the form of a dove, while the heart of Christ possessed by Mary shines onto the continents of Europe and Africa.  The Bible in the middle of the image is supported by the symbols of the four gospels, a lion for Mark, and angel for Matthew, an ox for Luke, and an eagle for John.
