Image Title: Lucifer's Sin
Scripture Reference:
Description: Standing on a cloud and surrounded by angels, Lucifer is depicted as a beautiful angel, from whose mouth the words, "I will ascend. Isa. 14" (Isaiah 14:13), emerge on a banner. Beneath his feet, an angel topples out of heaven and below, Adam and Eve take the fruit from the serpent. The Latin superscription reads, "Lucifer sinned first of all," and the text below, "Who first polluted himself with wile iniquity? Lucifer: he has abandoned the outpost of truth eternal." The numeral, 25, has been placed in the upper right to indicate its plate number within a series of illustrations.
