Historical Note

From 1949-63 the organization was called National Association of Biblical Instructors, Southern Section. In 1964, the name was changed to American Academy of Religion, Southern Section. Beginning in 1969 it was designated American Academy of Religion, Southeastern Region. (In 1969-70, the programs say Southern Section; however, the Minutes say Southeastern Region.)

Scope and Content Note

Typescript. Originals in bound volumes (1st, 1949-15th, 1963 and 16th, 1964-27th, 1975). In addition to the Minutes of the annual meeting, the collection includes notices sent about the meetings, programs, membership lists, some committee reports and in some cases records of expenses incurred. Minutes of future meetings will be bound when a sufficient number accumulate.
