 Biographical Note

Little biographical information about Archdeacon Basil Wilberforce was found. He lived from 1841-1916.


Scope and Content Note

This collection is comprised of a letter dated May 10 from Basil Wilberforce to Frances Power Cobbe. Cobbe (1822-1904) was a English feminist writer who was also involved in the anti-vivisection movement. In the letter, Wilberforce praises Cobbe, writing, “the world is the better that you have lived.”
