Biographical Note

No information was discovered about Lewis H. Evans, the creator of this collection.


Scope and Content Note

This collection consists of three items. The first is a framed print of John Wesley “Preaching from the Steps of a Market Cross”, published by Bovril, produced by C.W. Faulkner & Co., London, 1909. The artist was Whatnerell [sic].

The second item is a handwritten book of spiritual poetry and/or hymns written by Selina Chency Bayley, ca. 1867. There are some illustrations on several pages as well.

The last item is a scrapbook that contains newspaper clippings and correspondence, ca. 1908 regarding Dr. Charles O. Jones, a minister in the Methodist Episcopal Church. There is correspondence to Jones from friends and relatives.
