This commonplace book is a collection of notes and commentary on various subjects.  Included is a commentary on Antonio Rosmini's Works of Ovid written in Italian, a passage from Hylas by Theocritus written in Greek, and notes on various styles of ecclesiastical architecture.  Also included are numerous genealogical tables of British royalty and nobility, and notes on the development of English Parliament and other significant political events in British history.  Monograms at the end of some entries indicate that they were written in 1872.
